RE: Enabling custom views

Hi Liz

Thank you for your question. You might want to check to see if there is an Excel list in your workbook. If there is it will disable Custom views for the whole workbook.

Let us know if you have any further questions.
Kind regards,
Andrew

RE: Enabling custom views

Hi Liz

To remove the list click in the list and convert it to a named range by going to Data > List > Convert to named range. At the prompt choose Yes to convert to a normal range. You should then find Custom Views is enabled.

I hope this helps.

Kind regards,
Andrew

RE: Enabling custom views

Hi Liz,

Thank you for your question.

After doing some testing and research, if you use the Create List command from the Data menu on existing data, it disables the Custom Views for all the worksheets in the workbook.

If this is the case you can convert the list back to a range by navigating to Data, then List and Convert to range. This should enable the Custom views.

I hope this answers your question.

Regards

Simon

Excel tip:

Conditional formatting for cells that return text , not picked up by Go to command

If you have tried to format all cells containing text even those that display text as a result of a formula you may have had difficulty. As Go to command with constant selected does not pick up formulas that result in text.

Then try this. Select the range the formula cells appear in on your sheet. Format, select Conditional Formatting menu. In the dialog box under Condition 1, select "Formula Is" from drop down. Next to it in the Formula Box, enter the formula =Istext(A1. Click Format button , choose desired formatting settings and click OK. To go ahead and apply the conditional formatting click OK to accept
