Text box

Hi,

How do I get a text box to automatically format inkeeping with the style of the rest of the slide. For example, when I add a text box at the moment, it is formatted with difference bullets to the rest of the presentation, different font and underlined. Its obviously relatively easy to manually change each text box, but it is frustrating to do so. Is there a way where each text box automatically comes out in a particular format?

Many thanks

RE: text box

Hello Sian

Thank you for your question.

When you refer to text boxes, are you referring to the placeholders that are part of the slide layout (e.g. when you insert a title and text layout slide, there are 2 placeholders - one for the title and another for the text); or are you referring to when you draw a text box on a slide yourself from the drawing toolbar?

Kind regards
Amanda

RE: text box

Hi Amanda,

I am referring to an actual separate text box that you insert on top of the placeholders that are on the slide layout.

Many thanks

Sian

RE: text box

Hi Sian

If it's something that's inserted from a placeholder, it should be picking up the formatting from the slide master, so I'm puzzled as to why you would be having this problem.

You might want to record a macro that you can then run to quickly change the formatting - that's the only thing I can suggest without seeing what's happening with your presentation. If you think it will help, you're welcome to send the presentation (or part of it, if it's large) to me - my email is amanda

Kind regards
Amanda

Powerpoint tip:

Getting animations to play in slide show view

If you have a presentation that you know contains animations, but they are not playing in slide show view, try the following:

1. Go to Slide Show - Set up Show.

2. In the 'Show options' section of the dialogue box that appears, check to see if the box next to 'Show without animation' has been checked.

3. Remove the check and click OK - you should now be able to see the animations play in slide show view.
