Are you able to have 2 or more time settings, for example; daily leading to an event, and by minute for the event day itself?

For upcoming training course dates see: Pricing & availability

RE: Project

Hi Richard

Thank you for your question. Each view only supports one timescale setting days, hours etc. You can still have a mixture of tasks with hour durations and day durations.

One way around this is to have two views of your project each set at a different zoom level. To set this up go to View > More Views > and choose to copy the Gantt View. Give it a name e.g. Gant - Hours. Make sure the check box Show in menu is selected then click OK.

Turn on the view bar (View > View Bar)

Click the Gantt - hours view and zoom in to show hours on the timescale. Now you can easily switch between the day view of the plan and the hourly breakdown for the day.

I hope this helps. Do let me know if you have any questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew

Ms project tip:

Using the Quick Access Toolbar in Project 2010

The Quick Access Toolbar is included in virtually every Office product, including Project 2010 as well as Outlook 2010, Word 2010, Excel 2010, and PowerPoint 2010.

You will find the Quick Access Toolbar in the top-left side of the window. To begin, click the Customize button (it's the little black arrow at the end of the toolbar).

Simply click the commands you want to include.

Virtually any command can be added to the Quick Access Toolbar. Click the More Commands option and a new window will open from where you can browse the commands including those not on the ribbon.
