what is the difference between using = or + at the begining of a formula?

Hi Jane

Great question! In practice there is no difference. Both work the same though there is a slight advantage for keyboard users. If you prefer to use the numberpad keyboard then starting a formla with + is quicker to type than reaching out for the equals symbol. Other than that it can look a little strange in the formula but should work the same.
