Hello,

Are you aware of any code that can calculate distances between 2 UK Post Codes? (using Google Maps or other online mapping sites possibly?)

Hi Mike

Good question! We are actually looking into this ourselves and there is quite a bit to consider:

Do you "buy in" 3rd party code to save time? if so is it fully tested, do you need to source post code references separately?
What is the code written in? (php, vb, etc)

You can do a search on google for "postcode distance calculator code" and get some relevant results.

We are still looking for a solution to fit our requirements, good luck with yours!

Access tip:

Splittng a database

Split your database into two (at least).

Keep all of your code, forms, reports, etc. in one 'code' database and all of your tables in another 'data' database which is then linked to the 'code' database.

This makes modifications, updates and back-ups that much easier and allows you to work on a new version of your 'code' database without affecting existing users. It also makes it easier should you wish to convert a single user databases into a multi-user networked version.

Hello,
I was wondering what the Mac alternative for producing a chart in Excel, using the F11 key, would be.
I think on a Mac this shortcut would clear all workbooks to show the desktop.
