Driving Predecessors

Is there an easier way to determine the driving predecessor in a large project, other than checking the dates of each predecessor individually?

As far as I can see you have to note all the predecessor task id's then find each one and check the date against the successor activity.

Thanks

RE: Driving Predecessors

Hi Paul

Thank you for your question. You may find the critical path calculated by MS Project is helpful in identifying drivers. You can see the critical tasks quickly by switching to the Tracking Gantt view (View > Tracking Gantt). Tasks that have no slack or float and influence the project end date will be highlighted in red.

You may also find adding the Successors columns to the table view helps you identify drivers.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you have any further questions.

Kind regards,
Andrew
