MS Export into Excel

Hello,

I am trying to export my project into excel, after following the wizard, it asks me to change for security settings on Project?? Please advise on another method or a reason to why after the wizard I am still not able to export into excel?

Kind regards,
S Bhuller

RE: MS Export into Excel

Hi Sudeep. Can I just check the version of Project you are using? This is often a problem that crops up with Project 2007.

In 2007 there is a security setting in Tools > Options > Security that can stop exporting from MS Project. Make sure your settings alow you to save to a
legacy format (perhaps using the option that prompts you for an OK before proceeding)

If this still doesn't resolve the problem or you are using an earlier version of MS Project.

Kind regards,
Andrew

Ms project tip:

Keep constraining dates to a minimum

As far as possible avoid fixing the dates of your tasks. For example try to steer of clear dragging task bars in the Gantt chart to move them on the timeline or entering dates directly into the Start / Finish fields.

Date constraints such as these limit Microsoft Project's ability to automatically adjust your project whenever you add, remove or modify the duration of your tasks. Instead use the logic in your task dependencies that link your tasks to enable Project to calculate the start and finish dates for you.
