Hello Michelle

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

A macro can be used to automate/speed up the process of performing a task that you carry out frequently in Excel, so that you save time by not having to manually carry out the steps you normally go through to accomplish the task.

For example, you could have a macro that filters a database for certain criteria; then prints the results with a certain header/footer information.
