Watermarks

Why is it that sometimes Printed Watermark is greyed out and not available regardless if it is in Print Layout, Normal, Outline or Web Layout view?

I have noticed it is available sometimes and not others but have not worked out why. I know there is software installed to allow us to read MS Word 07 files even though we run 2003. Would it have anything to do with that?

RE: Watermarks

Hello Karin

Thank you for your question and welcome to the forum.

When you refer to Printed Watermark being greyed out, do you mean that the option is greyed out in the menu (Format-Background)?

Kind regards
Amanda

RE: Watermarks

Thanks for clarifying Karin.

I suspect this might be because there are two different ways to put a watermark in. One is through the Format - Background option; the other is through Properties in the Print dialogue box which is available with certain printers.

So it might be that the documents where the Format-Background option is greyed out have had watermarks put into them using the other method.

You can check this by going to File - Print, then clicking the Properties button next to name of the selected printer. There might be several tabs in the Properties, depending what kind of printer you are using. Having a poke around through the options might reveal a watermark setting.

If not, let me know and I'll look into this a bit further for you.

Kind regards
Amanda
