Hi AndreThank you for your question. This should work in the same way as using data in the current workbook. So when building your VLOOKUP have your second workbook open. Build the VLOOKUP function and when you get to specify the table_array switch to the workbook containing the data (use the View menu) and select the table of data for the lookup. In the formula bar enter a comma and complete the VLOOKUP statement with TRUE or FALSE as needed followed by a closed bracket.
The lookup should work even if the data source workbook is closed.
