Hi Bryan

Thanks for your question

Probably the best approach is to open the paste function tool.

Click on the insert menu and select function. You can then browse the functions by category. When you select a function you will then get a dialog which will explain the structure of the function and guide you through the process of building it. There is also a link to microsoft help for that function
