Comparing 2 spreadsheets to find unique records

Hi,

Please could you help with an enquiry? I have installed a duplicate checker in Excel that finds the duplicate fields in 2 excel spreadsheets. However this can be time consuming. Do you know of a much quicker way of comparing 2 similar spreadsheets to find the unique records? For example two spreadsheets with same layout, except that one spreadsheet may contain different data than the other.

Many thanks in advance.

Kind regards,

Cherry

RE: Comparing 2 spreadsheets to find unique records

Hi Cherry

After reviewing your post we can recommend two courses of action as your requirement is beyond the scope of this forum.

1) Attend our 2 day Excel VBA Introduction course, this will give you the skill sets required to create your own solution. More information, click here.

2) We create the solution for you, send us your working files with a list of objectives, we will confirm scope of work and related costs for you to decide on.

I hope this will suffice and if you have any further quesitons please contact us.

Regards

Jacob

Excel tip:

Importing Numbers in Excel 2010

Occasionally, when importing data into Excel you find that the some of the imported values are treated as text.

To convert these numbers to actual values, click on an empty cell and press Ctrl+C.

Next, select the range that contains the values you need to change and in the Clipboard Group on the Home tab, click the Paste drop-down arrow and choose Paste Special. In the Paste Special dialog box, select Add and then click OK.
