Progress lines

I am aware on how to insert a progress line, like the example you were using when Ford do it, but how do you hide the task bars?At the moment I have the line and the task bars and it looks very messy.Cheers

RE: Progress lines

Hi Bikramjit

You can hide the task bars and tidy up the display very quickly. First you need to select all your tasks. In the table click in the grey box that sits between the column headers and the row headers. Clicking here highlights all the tasks. (It's similar to selecting all cells in an Excel spreadsheet)

Will all your tasks selected you now need to call up the task information dialogue box. Up on your standard toolbar there is an icon for task properties (usually to the right of the link, unlink and split icons).

From the general tab of the task information dialogue box, in the lower left area you will see a check box called "Hide task bar" When you first see the check box it's greyed out. Click in the box until you see a tick then click OK

All your task bars are hidden, only your progress line is visible.

To redisplay your bars select all your tasks, call up the task information dialogue box again and click in the "Hide task bar" dialogue box until it is empty (white)

Best regards,

Andrew

Ms project tip:

Email a Task

When you need to communicate important information to your project staff use Microsoft Project 2003 to send them a note using outlook or an e-mail system.

1.In a task sheet, select the task or tasks which you want to send a project note.

2.On the File menu, point to Send To, and then select Mail Recipient (as Schedule Note).

3.Under Address message to, select the recipients of your note.
