Indexing

Hi there,
How do you index a contents table so that it updates when you change items in the main documents, specifically for main headings and then sub headings?
Many thanks
Juliet

RE: Indexing

Hi Juliet, thanks for your query. I take it you mean a contents table in Word? It's a bit of an involved process to describe on the forum and forms part of our Advanced Word course, but essentially you need to make sure your Word document is formatted using Styles and then an automatic table of contents is inserted correctly at the start.

Hope this helps,

Anthony

Word tip:

Insert Screen Clips in Word 2010

You can insert screen captures easily into a Word 2010 document by selecting Screenshot from the Insert tab. This launches a gallery of windows currently open and you can click one to insert an image of the window into your document. When you press Enter, the screen capture gets inserted automatically.
