Hi,

I have a problem,

I have made a query with several referrals and diagnostic codes:

Referrals ID Diagnostic ID Number
1 2 1
1 3 2
1 4 3
1 5 4
2 3 1
2 5 2
3 2 1
3 3 2
3 4 3

I would like to have the Third "Number" column generated
Any help on this matter would greatly be appreciated.

Regards
Mo

RE: ID

Hi Mo,

Thank you for your question.

Do you mean return the last number in the referral code as in the 3 in 323? If so you could create a query and add the fields you need. Create a new field by clicking in the next blank field. Click on the wand icon on the shortcut toolbar which opens the expression builder and type the new fieldname followed by a colon. Open the functions folder and look for the left or right functions which are part of the text category. You could use the right function to extract the last number from that field.

I hope this helps.

Regards

Simon

RE: ID

Sorry Simon,

the text above doesnt really explain it well as the tabs havent come across

Referral ID Diag ID Generated ID
1 a 1
1 b 2
1 c 3
1 d 4
2 a 1
2 b 2
2 c 3
2 g 4
3 f 1
3 g 2
4 d 1
4 f 2
4 e 3

I want to Generate ID for each Referral ID and Diag ID, until there is a new referral.

RE: ID

Hi Mohammed

Further to your recent posts we have reviewed them and can confirm that we might be able to help but it is beyond the scope of this forum.

We would need to see your working files in order to scope out the work involved to reach a solution. Once we have done this we can relate duration and any costs.

If you would like to investigate this further please let us know.

Kind regards

Jacob
