I've created a database consisting of 134 records.I'm trying to produce a report of these records with records running consequentially i.e. 1,2,3....... However, this does not appear to be the case. When I click on the scroll button to go from 1 to 2, it doesn't, it goes strailgt from 1 to 10 then 100, missing out the middle numbers in between.
I've look at one of my tables and see that the records don't run consequentially but are at random. Id the problem linked?
Anyway I'd be grateful if you could enlighten me as to what the problem could be here and how I could overcome this?

The sorting behavior you describe suggests that your record numbers are saved as text rather than numeric values. For starters I suggest you look at the data type of the record numbers. If they are text, try converting them to a numeric type. This should then solve the problem.
If this doesn't work, please let me know and we can consider other options

Thanks Stephen.Yes, i changed the field from text to number. However, that partially resolved the problen. What I then did was assign a primary key to that field. That seems to have done the trick.

We have spreadsheets at work which have every second line shaded with one colour and every other line shaded with another. when adding new data, how do i keep the formatting without having to highlight every second line?
