Word 2003 customised styles to word 2007

Hello

I created styles in Word 2003 and made sure only these styles would show in the styles list. However, we are now moving to 2007 and they show when opening the template but cannot be used/selected and only some of them show. How can I get them to work and also ONLY display as a choice for people to use?

Hello, I have now discovered that the styles not showing were only the list styles I had created in Word 03. I have managed to find them in the multilevel styles which is seperate to the "styles" tab. However, as my template is protected, this multilevel tab doesnt allow me to open the list styles and select anything! Please can you advise how I can get around this?

Katie how did you customise the template that contains your original styles. Is it a Word 2007 dotx template or is it a Word 2003 dot template.

My suggestion would be to copy your styles across to a new Word 2007 template and save that template down as the new styles template.

To do this in a word document press Alt+Ctrl+Shift+S

This will display the styles pane. At the bottom opposite options. Click the button that says manage styles. Click on import/Export

This will take you to the organiser. Click on close file on the left. It will change to open. Click on Open to Open the Word 2003 template. When opened the styles should be displayed copy them over to the 2007 word template.

WORK menu

To add the Work menu to the menu bar or a toolbar:

On the Tools menu, click Customize, and then click the Commands tab.
In the Categories box, click Built-in Menus.
Click Work in the Commands box and drag it to the menu bar or displayed toolbar.
With the Work menu in place, you can add any open Word document to your list. Here are the options:

To add the current document to the Work menu, on the Work menu, click Add to Work Menu.
To open a document on the Work menu, on the Work menu, click the document you want to open.
To remove a document from the Work menu:
Press CTRL+ALT+- (dash key). Your cursor will look like a large, bold underscore.
On the Work menu, click the document you want to remove.
