Macros

Is it possible to run a macro to copy and paste from another workbook?

For example, updating a spreadsheet week on week with the new week's figures. E.g. we have weekly sales that are downloaded from our companys system to excel. can there be a macro to then copy and paste these sales into a separate spreadsheet that we update week on week?

For upcoming training course dates see: Pricing & availability

RE: Macros

Beth

The only problem with recording such a macro is that it would copy and paste the information in the same place as recorded and would overwrite information if you ran it again.

Do you want the copied information to overwrite existing data or do you want it appended to existing data?

The answer to this question will determine the kind of macro you record.

Excel tip:

Saving your Excel Spreadsheet as a CSV File

In situations where you need to save your Excel spreadsheet as a CSV file, follow these simple steps.

Click the File tab and click Save As.
Enter a name in the File name field.
Click the drop-down arrow next to the Save as type field to select the file type. Scroll down the list and select CSV (comma delimited) (*.CSV)
Click Save

The data will now be saved to a separate CSV file which can be used in different applications.
