Adobe Acrobat ribbon no longer available in Word

It seems that Adobe is not planning to release an update to the current v9 of Acrobat to feature a ribbon interface in Office 2010 products (http://kb2.adobe.com/cps/843/cpsid_84399.html), instead saying Office 2010 support will be incorporated into the next version. (Thanks a bunch.)

The 'work around' they are proposing is to print documents to the Adobe PDF printer, which works OK I guess. Ideally, I would like to add to the Quick Access Toolbar a button which will send the active document to the Adobe PDF printer (which isn't my default printer) in one click, rather than me having to access the print menu. Can you suggest a way to do this? Thanks. James

RE: Adobe Acrobat ribbon no longer available in Word

Hi James

Thanks for your question.

One answer might be to add the save as other format button or the Publish as PDF or XPS button to the quick access toolbar and use this to save (rather than print) as pdf.

You can find them by going to File > Options > Quick Access Toolbar and switch the list of commands to All Commands then choose Publish as PDF or XPS

It may also be possible to record / create a macro printing to the PDF printer, again adding to the quick access toolbar.

I hope one of these possible solutions may be of help.

Kind regards,

Andrew

Word tip:

Moving Tabs where you want

This is a Word only tip.

When you are moving tabs using the ruler the pain is that they jump, but if you use the ALT key and then click on the tab it will allow you to move it anywhere you want.

The best bit about this shortcut is that when you press the ALT key the ruler changes and show's you actual tab margin sizes.
