RE: changing default bar colours on bar charts
Hi Keith,
Thank you for the question!
You can change the colours of the bars in a chart in Excel by double clicking on the bars and this will give you the format menu and here you will see the colour of the bar and the options where you can change it.
Hope thast helps
Tracy

Hi Tracy,
Yes, I know that, but when you do a F11 to auto draw a bar chart, it uses the same dull boring colours each time with a grey background - what I would like to change is this default setting.

Hi Keith,
Right, yes you can change the colours and settings of the default chart.
You do it by doing the following:-
Create a normal standard chart, and from there change the standard chart to how you would like it to appear each time.
Still in the "new" chart, go to the chart menu and down to Chart types, make sure you are in the tab that says Custom Types, and click the radion button at the bottom that says "user define", then click the button that says "Add". Give your chart a name and a description (optional), click OK, then click the button "Set as defalut chart" and it should work.
Let me know if it works
Tracy
