Conditional Formatting

How to set the above when
50% (100/200) is in the cell and you only want the colour to change in another cell by reading the %, i.e. the 50% being the main figure against the target of 100%.

RE: Conditional Formatting

Hi Richard,

Thank you for your question.

Click into the relevant cell and go to Format and then Conditional Formatting.

Choose Formula is and enter = followed by the cell reference containing the % amount. Follow that by an equals sign and finally enter the value you want the cell to be tested against.

e.g. Formula is =c2=50%

I hope this answers your question.

Regards

Simon

Excel tip:

Convert a column into row quickly in Excel 2010

Occasionally you might enter data into Excel vertically and then when you finish realize that actually it would look more clearer if it was represented in a horizontal format. If you follow these simple steps below, you can quickly change the data from going vertically to horizontally and vice versa.

First, select the column you want to convert into a row or a row into a column. Then right click and select Copy. Go to the sheet where you want to past this row as a column and select “Paste Special”. Remember to check the check-box “Transpose” and select “OK”.
