RE: pivot tables

Hi Wanda

Thank you for your question.

Yes, you can create a chart based on the data in a PivotTable.

Once you have the PivotTable created, on the PivotTable Toolbar select the Chart Wizard icon (3rd button on the toolbar.)

The PivotChart is linked to the PivotData so if you change the PivotTable data set, the chart will reflect these changes.

The chart itself also allows you to filter data from the PivotTable. The X-axis heading, Y-axis heading & Legend have drop-down lists. The changes made to the chart will reflect on the PivotTable.

The same tools apply to a PivotChart as a normal Excel chart, i.e the tools found in the Chart menu or right click.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post.

Excel tip:

Recently used file list

Under the File menu, you may find a list of files at the bottom of the menu. These files represent the most recently used Excel spreadsheets. This file list provides a quick way for you to access your files.

You can disable the file list feature of Excel. This is done by

1. Choose Tools > Options menu. You will see the Options dialog box.
2. Ensure the General tab is selected.
3. Make sure the Recently Used File List check box is cleared.
4. Click on OK.
