Although I learned of this trick in an Excel course, I'm posting it in the Word forum, as it's just as relevant to Word.
At a recent Excel 2007 Advanced course, the instructor (I think it was Peter) showed an instruction that can be added to a macro so that it doesn't display the drawing of actions on screen, but instead simply generates the end result.
But I can't find the instruction! Can someone please post this command? Thanks.

Hi James, thanks for your query. The line of code is:
Application.Screenupdating = False
Best practice is to switch it back on again at the end of the code:
Application.Screenupdating = True
