Delete a project from Server when it has already been deleted th

I have added and published a project to the server. Following this I had opened MS Project, chose to 'open' a project, and then from the list of existing projects I deleted the one that had been uploaded. I should have deleted the project directly from the 'admin' section of project server.

Now when I go into the admin section of Project Server to delete that same project which is still showing in the project list the system tells me that this project does not exist.

How can I delete the project from the server when the file has already been deleted directly from MS Project?

RE: Delete a project from Server when it has already been delete

Hello Chris,

Your question has been handed over to me and as far as I know this is a bit of a problem when using Project server.

What I would try is to create a new project with the same name as the deleted one, adding one single task and whatever else you think is necessary and upload this to your server. This should prompt you that such a file already exists, then overwrite that file. If this works, then you can delete the project directly from the server first and hopefully your problem will be solved.

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.
Regards,

Ms project tip:

Giving Someone a Gantt Chart Snapshot

To pass on a picture of a Gantt chart segment, choose the appropriate view, select the rows to be included, then click on the camera icon and select For Screen. The graphics image can be pasted into another document. (See Paste icon forn Project 2010)
