Importing queries from Access to Excel

Hi
I have an access database with some queries set up, but when I try to import the queries to Excel using the From Access tool in the Data tab, I can't see my queries in the list. Some are there, and some not. Any ideas?
Thank you
Sarah

RE: Importing queries from Access to Excel

Hello Sarah,

Not entirely sure what your trying to achieve. If you have set up a query in Access, for example to display all the customers in London, then the results can be exported to excel from within the database in Access, which may be a better option.
To do this you must run the query you want to export, then go to the External Data Ribbon, in the Export section, Select Excel. Following the instructions in the dialog box.

Alternatively, the method your doing from within should work fine. Ive tried it several times and all queries show up. Sorry without seeing your setup I cannot answer why they do not appear in your list?

I hope this resolves your question. If it has, please mark this question as resolved.

If you require further assistance, please reply to this post. Or perhaps you have another Microsoft Office question?

Have a great day.

Access tip:

Deleting duplicate records from a table

You cannot delete records tables where there duplicate records. A way around this is to create a new table which wont hold the duplicates. and then deleting the old table.

1. Use a make-table query based on this table only. IMPORTANT - Ensure that you include all of the fields from your original table or you may loose data.

2. Open the query's property sheet by using VIEW, QUERY, PROPERTIES, and set the Unique Values property to Yes

3. Because you have selected the Unique Values to Yes when you run the query, Access creates a new table without duplicate records. You can now delete the old table and rename the new one.
