Hi Julie,

Thank you for your question and welcome the forum.

Use Insert and then function to bring up the function dialogue box. You will find the function in the lookup and reference category.

The first argument is the cell that contains the lookup value. The second argument is the range of cells in the other workbook you are trying to retrieve the data from. The third argument is the column number from the data set for the desired field value to be returned.
