I was a bit confused about how to get the number of columns in the table containing the relevant data.

Hi Luigi, thanks for your query. When using a VLOOKUP the column index number is simply the number of the column in the table array you have selected. The right most column in a three column table will always be three, regardless of where that table is on the spreadsheet. That's all there is to it!
