Hi Paul

I have created a drop down list.

I want to create a merge a drop down list with an IF statement.

For eg:

If the left colum contains a yes then this colum is o otherwise choose from the drop down list.

Colmn A Colm B

Yes =if(A1="Y", then pick from drop down list otherwise 0.)

Can that be done in excel?

=if(A1="Y", 0,false)

you would put your combo box in false. this cant be dont without VB coding being written. Nice idea though ;) a nested if function would be your next best thing.

Functions in Excel can be difficult to recall their format/syntax

For example, you want to use the =PMT function.

Enter =PMT, then select keystroke, CTRL+SHIFT+A.
