Send a report by email without getting a confirmation request fr

Hi,

Some time ago I asked how I could have Excel send an email and Antony gave my a very good answer.

I use this functionality to send a report to a list of people who need to receive it once a procedure is run.

I tried to automate this process and “programmed” Excel to run the procedure at 6:00 am in the morning and send a report by email before we even come to the office (first people arrive between 7:00 and 7:30 am). Everything goes well: the report and the email are generated. However each time the email is blocked by Outlook and I am asked to confirm that I would like to send the message (“A program is trying to send an e-mail message on your behalf. If this is unexpected, click Deny and verify your antivirus software is up-to-date.”).

I understand that this check has been put in place for security purposes. Nevertheless I would like Excel to send the email since there is no threat. Having done the most difficult part and being stuck at the end by such a detail is very frustrating.

Is there a way to have Excel “answer” this question automatically or to prevent this window from appearing? Can you suggest any alternative?

I thank you in advance for your help.

Alain

RE: Send a report by email without getting a confirmation reques

Hi Alain

Thanks for your post and great to see what you have been able to achieve.

Please see the remarks from my colleague Mark: "The problem here is not with Excel, but Outlook and Exchange Server blocking the email group send. This would require VBA for either Outlook or more probable, Exchange. I have searched Google for any answers but way out of my league!!"

There may well be solution for you but as you can see not one that is within immediate reach. This sort of requirement typically falls under consultancy with trainer development and associated costs.

If you would like to discuss this further then please reply to my email.

Thanks

Jacob

Excel tip:

Customize the toolbar in Excel 2010

You can create your own toolbar which contains your favourite or most used tools. This will make using Excel much more efficient. To do this, you need to click on View, then select Customize Quick access Toolbars and then select Customize. A list of tools will then appear on the screen of which you can add or remove them as you please.
