Continues page numbers with new section break
I have created a new section and tried to make the page number sequence continue from the previous page by pressing "link to previous" but is still shows the page number as 0. How can I get it to link to the earier pages?

Hi Richard, thanks for your query. Once you've got the section break in you need to right click on that page number, choose Format and set it to start at the next number in the sequence. That way, the numbering appears seamless across sections.

Hello Richard,
Thank you for your question regarding working with section breaks and their relationships with page numbers.
Whenever you use a section break Word assumes that your reason for doing this is because you wish to apply different aspects to this part of the document and will, of course, start the page numbers from the beginning.
To fix this go to the footer of the page numbered 0 and in the Design section of the Header & Footer tools tab select the Page Number button on the left side of the ribbon. Then click Format page numbers... and select the appropriate option in the Page Numbering section at the bottom and click OK. This should rectify the page numbers.
