Resource overallocation issue with MS Project 2010
I am working in a project where I have to allocate several resources to various tasks and each time I assign a resource to a task I get a warning indicator that the resources are over allocated. These resources have been previously allocated to other tasks within the project and as they will be working on multiple tasks at different times and some times at the same time, is there a way I could schedule the resources so as to avoid the overallocation issue?

Thank you for your question regarding resource allocation issues.
Determining the amount of time a resource works on a number of different tasks, some of which are concurrent, can be a bit tricky. However, once you have worked this out all you have to do when assigning a resource to a task is click in the units column and enter the percentage figure (the amount of time a resource is expected to work on that particular task) and press enter to assign.
So, by entering a percentage of time into the units column for each task, you are scheduling a resource's effort to be spent on a particular task. If tasks run concurrently the total percentages for one resource should not exceed 100% or else you will still get the 'Red Man'.
