RE: linking to vidoes and streaming media

by - trainer David gold contributer[428 posts] (2007 May 2 Wed, 13:00) replyReply

Hi Louay

I assume you mean that you want to use Adobe Dreamweaver 8 to create a web page that plays one of you own videos.

To do this you will need to embed a media player in a web page, then when you click a link for a certain video, it will play in the media player.

I suggest that you have a look at: http://www.mioplanet.com/rsc/embed_mediaplayer.htm
this site will give you full instructions and code help you complete the task.

Hope this helps

David

Dreamweaver tip:

Xhtml vs html

When using dreamwear template or just creating a blank webpage, you are able to select the markup language you want to use. The main choices are either xhtml or html. It is now best to select xhtml as this will translate all the html into xml, so it is transmitted across the web in xml format. One of the main advantages of this is that it makes the site that you build much more compatible with the range of different web browsers that exist.
