Hi Louise,

My first thought was "don't!" ;) Most people find this distracting, but it all depends on your audience.

You can put the image into a layer, and then use Dreamweaver behaviours and timelines to move the image around.

Or, consider putting the image into a Flash movie file, for a more animated approach. (You'll need to learn a bit of Flash and also own the application, or get a free trial from Adobe).

Or, create an animated GIF file using Jasc Animation Shop or similar application. This allows graphics to have frames like a movie, and you can set the time delay for each frame. This gets exported as one GIF file, which most internet browsers can interpret and display properly.

Last in this list (but not least!) you can use the MARQUEE tag, with your images inside, and set the speed and scrolling method to your liking.

Good luck!

Regards, Rich

Dreamweaver tip:

Testing a site

When developing a site, you have to cater to the widest possible audience allowing for users with different browsers and display settings.
Test pages to see how they look with:

- different display resolutions
- browser with graphics turned off
- many different browsers not just IE
- if possible different operating systems.
