Merge

How is possible to merge databases?

Hi Best Training Support Forum Team,

I need to import data from Excel creating more tables and then I need to merge all of them. As a result I need to obtain one table with all the records (common or not) present in all the other tables. In all the table one field is common. In Excel I cannot do this.

Thanks a lot!

RE: Merge

Hi Paola

It is possible to merge tables together through using action queries. You need to know how basic queries work, understand the structure of tables and also be familiar with ACTION QUERIES. This allows you to merge data together in a way that makes sense. You need to make sure that the fields you are mergeing together have the same properties, otherwise it will not work properly.

Access is far more complex than Excel, and it can be more powerful in some situations. Not always though, as your ability to determined by your experience and knowledge of Access.

Richard
