Where do I find the most trustworthy trial software for Dreamweaver 8, please? I can find general sites, but not specific links. Thanks!

http://www.adobe.com/downloads/ is probably the only genuine place to get tiral versions of Adobe software.

However, at the current time of posting, Dreamweaver does not appear to be available for trial.

"We expect trial versions of each of the Adobe Creative Suite 3 editions and component products to be available within six to eights weeks of the product’s shipping."

Keep checking the page, or sign up for the notification.

I can't find anywhere to download trials of previous versions of Dreamweaver (8, MX 2004, MX etc.) so you may need to look on other sites. This is where spyware and viruses can be a problem.

Even download.com has what appears to be a genuine download link for Dreamweaver Trial software, but this is simply a link to the Adobe page again. So I think the waiting game has started...

Xhtml vs html

When using dreamwear template or just creating a blank webpage, you are able to select the markup language you want to use. The main choices are either xhtml or html. It is now best to select xhtml as this will translate all the html into xml, so it is transmitted across the web in xml format. One of the main advantages of this is that it makes the site that you build much more compatible with the range of different web browsers that exist.
