Zoe has attended:
Excel Advanced course
Excel VBA Intro Intermediate course

Data Table

Why, when creating a Data Table, do the column input cells actually refer to rows and the row input cells actually refer to columns?

RE: Data Table

Hi Zoe

The column in put cell refers to the column of information in the data table. The data is stored in a column of rows.

The logic is a bit a backward, and that is just the way it is programmed in excel.

Richard

Excel tip:

New to Excel 2010 - Sparklines!

Excel 2010 includes a new feature called Sparklines which are tiny charts that fit into a single cell and plot data in cells from the worksheet. There are a host of formatting and styles that can be applied to them and they are really quite interesting.

>insert
>sparklines
>Choose any style you want

You will be asked for the range and it will automatically select the cell your in to insert the sparklines.
