What would you use Index & Match for?

RE: Index function

Hi Annabel,

Thanks for the question

You can use the MATCH function to determine the relative position of a value in a range. The INDEX function on the other hand returns the cell value based on its relative position within a range. You can combine the two functions to get almost any piece of information from any table.

Excel tip:

Deleting a range of cells using the autofill handle

Firstly, select the range of cells for which you would like to clear the contents. Then drag the autofill handle to the the top left corner of the selection whilst holding down the shift key. Your selected contents should then be deleted.
