When I try to import .csv docs from the web, Excel doesn't take comas as delimiters. I need to save them as .txt files and open them with Excel with the import wizard, and delimit by commas instead of tabs.
I'd like to be able to set commas as delimiters by default so I can download directly .csv files without saving them as .txt files beforehand.

When you say "import csv from the web", what do you mean. A CSV file is comma separated values, so not sure why you are getting an error. What sort of information are you downloading?

Typically excel remembers the last delimiter setting in the wizard.

Excel tip:

Convert Text into Number

Some times numbers maybe imported in as text or you maybe concatenating numbers that form a text string that now are treated, because you had to extract them by Text functions

To convert Text into Number just encase the relevant cell reference or formula in the TEXT function. See Converting American Date to European hint

eg TEXT(Ref) or TEXT(formula)
