RE: Linking Ms Office

From Access, you can use FILE > GET EXTERNAL DATA > Import.

From Excel, you can use TOOLS > IMPORT EXTERNAL DATA > DATABASE QUERY. This requires some technical setup, which you should have covered on your course. If you require some additionl info, please let us know.

RE: Linking Ms Office

Hi Reza

So to create a link from Excel to Access do the following:

In Access,

1. Click FILE > GET EXTERNAL DATA > Link tables
2. Locate the excel file you want to link to
3. Change the file ype to Excel
4. Select file, click Link
5. step through the link spreadsheet wizard
6. choose source
7. field headings
8. file name

You might want to consider creating a named range for the data you want to link to Access, unless all the headings are in the first row in the excel spreadsheet.

For the courseware, go to :

to download your manual.
