Hi, Thanks for the training and support. I've found it really useful!

In Outlook the last line of my signature is my company website address. Because Outlook recognises it as a hyperlink it changes it to blue and underlines it. I'd like it to match the rest of the email and be orange and not underlined. Is this possible without changing the address or putting in spaces (which would then mean you can't use it as a link)

Chris.

Hi Chris

Thanks for your question and I'm glad to hear you are finding the forum useful.

If you go to Tools - Options - Mail Format and click Signatures, choose your signature and click Edit.

Highlight the web site address where you can see the preview of your signature and then click the Font button. Down in the bottom left corner, there's a button to change the font colour. Pick the colour you wish to use and click OK, then you can do any other formatting (e.g. change font style) and keep clicking OK until you exit out of all dialogue boxes.

RE: Outlook-Signatures - colours in URL links

Chris,

Amanda's solution may not work if you don't use Word as your e-mail editor.

I did manage to do this successfully, but only when I enabled Microsoft Word as my e-mail editor. So can't guarantee that your recipients will see the same thing (but they should if they can view Rich Text or HTML text).

These steps are for Outlook XP/2002, and I assume you have MS Word installed. Steps will be similar for version 2003, but may differ slightly.

- Go to Tools -> Options -> Mail Format tab
- Selectbox 'compose message in this format' set to 'rich text'.
- Tick 'use microsoft word to edit e-mail messages'
- Tick 'use microsoft word to read rich text e-mail messages' (this is what your recipients may need to tick to see your colourful URL - perhaps do some testing)
- At the bottom, click 'Signatures' button
- Give your signature a name, and select 'start with a blank signature'. Click NEXT button.
- Click 'Advanced Edit' button. Outlook will ask you to confirm that another program will be used. Press 'Yes' button. Word should start.
- Enter your signature how you want it to appear, including the URL. When you press Enter or space after a URL (if you've typed it with http:// at the start) Word turns it into a clickable link. It's blue. Now change the colour by selecting the text you want, and changing colour in Word like you normally would (toolbar or Format -> Font)
- Close word and say 'yes' to save file (Word saves your signature as a file, as this is what a signature actually is)
- Back to Outlook, you'll see signature preview. Link will appear blue. Press OK to return to Options dialogue box.
- Now select your new signature as 'Signature for new messages'.
- Start composing a new message. Word should briefly say 'starting Word as your Outlook editor' before it displays the compose window.
- Your signature should appear in the colour you chose in Word when editing your signature.

Hope this helps.

Regards, Rich
