Hi Roz

First you would build your project plan, made up of the tasks to be completed. The create your resources (contractors etc) on the resource sheet. Finally you bring them together by assigning resources to your tasks.

In the Gantt chart view choose Tools then Assign Resources... to bring up the assignment dialogue box. Click on your task then choose your resources and click on Assign.

I hope this helps - do let us know if you need further information.

Kind regards,

Andrew

The main problem I have is that contractors don't have the time constraints that exists with individuals - ie it's not my problem if they are under resourced, it is down to them to find resources. I think I will have to ignore the flag for over resourcing and just assign contractors.

Thank you for taking the time to reply to me.

Regards

Roz

Hi Roz

You're welcome. There may indeed be times when you choose to ignore overallocation warning messages. Alternatively you could set the Max Units % very high so that overallocation doesn't become an issue.

Kind regards,

Andrew
