Simon has attended:
Word Intermediate course

Word - keep with next

What is the easiest way to keep a title or text with subsequent text/paragraph - i.e on the same page however the text falls on the page?

For upcoming training course dates see: Pricing & availability

RE: Word - keep with next

Hi Simon

Thanks for your question.

It depends whether you are wanting to keep lines or paragraphs together.

If you are wanting to keep lines together:
1. Select the paragraphs that contain lines you want to keep together.

2. On the Format menu, click Paragraph, and then click the Line and Page Breaks tab.

3. Select the Keep lines together check box.

If you want to keep paragraphs together:
1. Select the paragraphs you want to keep together on a page.

2. On the Format menu, click Paragraph, and then click the Line and Page Breaks tab.

3. Select the Keep with next check box.

If you are using styles, the heading styles automatically have 'keep with next' as part of their default settings.

Word tip:

Showing all menu items

If you go into a pull down menu you usally find that you get a selection of items(this is the default) or sometimes everything. If you only get a selectiopn you have to go to the double arrows at the bottom of the menu and click it to get all of the hidden items.
To turn this off so that you always get everything, go to Tools / Customize / Options Tab / "Always show full menus". Make sure there is a tick in the box and you will always have every item.
