Leona has attended:
Word Intermediate course

Line spacing

When I cut and paste from another document in a different font I sometimes find the line spacing is double but I cannot remove it. How do I do this?

RE: Line spacing

You can alter line spacing through the Format - Paragraph dialog box and changing the value in the line spacing dropdown. Also, when pasting in from another document, try to use Edit - Paste Special and select the unformatted text option. This will being the text across but not the formatting and you might find this easier to reformat according to the style of the destination document.

RE: Line spacing

Thanks Anthony. How do I use the Edit - Paste Special function please. When I go to Edit I only have Paste as an option.

RE: Line spacing

Leona,

Ensure you have copied something to the clipboard first.
Word sometimes disables the 'paste special' option if none of the 'paste special' options applies to the item you have copied.

Regards, Rich

Word tip:

Create bullets or numbering without pressing a button!

If you want to create a bulleted or numbered list in Word, you can do so without using the bulleting or numbering buttons on the toolbar.

Here's how:

To start a bulleted list:
Type in an asterisk (*) or a hyphen (-) followed by a space then your text and press Enter.

The asterisk or hyphen should convert to a bullet point, and a second bullet point should appear next to your cursor position.

Creating a numbered list:
Type in 1. or 1) followed by a space then your text. When you press the Enter key, Word will convert this to an automatically numbered list. The number 2 will automatically appear next to where your cursor is positioned on the page.
