Try adding something like

/M#

to the format box on the field properties of the autonumber field.

"M" would stand for the letters that you want to have placed before the autonumber

Then, to increase the font size, press CTRL+SHIFT+>.

To decrease the font size, press CTRL+SHIFT+<.
