RE: Critical paths

Hi Edna. Essentially the critical path (the red path in the Tracking Gantt view) is the longest time between project start and end date. Where there is a certain amount of "float", previous tasks can be rescheduled to eat into this without affecting the end date, while rescheduling those tasks with constraints and/or linked together without any float will impact on the end date. These tasks, then, form the critical path. Rescheduling them, reschedules your end date.

Hope this helps,

Anthony

Ms project tip:

Gantt Charts

Gantt Charts was first Invented by Henry Gantt (1861-1919) while planning the construction of U.S. Navy ships during WWI.hence the name Gantt Charts
