Excel formatting/Formular

What can I do if my drop-down arrows don't include all information I want to see on my atuo-filter?

RE: Excel formatting/Formular

Hi Mailin

Thank you for your question.

The dropdown arrows for the autofilter will show each unique item in the column below.

If not all of the items in the column show in the dropdown list, it might be because there is a blank row or rows that occurs somewhere in the list area.

Otherwise if you are meaning that you want to be able to filter for more than one item in the column, you can use the Custom option in the dropdown list to do this.

RE: Excel formatting/Formular

Brilliant, thanks very much for your quick reply! So all I need to do is avoiding blank rows on the spread sheet.
Luckily i have learnt about the Custom option yesterday on the course.
thanks again

RE: Excel formatting/Formular

Hi Mailin

Good to hear there was a quick resolution to your problem.

Generally with a list it is best to make sure there are no blank rows, as this will affect sorting as well and also pivot tables if you use them.

Excel tip:

Activating the formula bar with the keyboard in Excel 2010

The formula bar in Excel 2010 contains a number of different formulas. However, it is time consuming to open the formula bar every time and insert the formula using the mouse. Instead, you can activate the formula bar with the keyboard. Simply press the F2 button on the keyboard then the information in the cell will expand allowing you to edit the information in the cell.
