Creating rollover buttons

Can you suggest the best method for creating buttons for use as rollovers? Or is there a source of ready created images that could be used?
Many thanks Garry for an excellent course on Friday 22Dec.

RE: Creating rollover buttons

Hi Alan

Sorry for the delay in getting back to you but our offices have been closed over the Christmas period.

With regards to your question. If you are using dreamweaver there is a relatively simple way of creating rollover buttons. Firstly you will need to images. You need one image as your main button and one image for the rollover. Once you have these buttons follow the next steps.

Within DreamWeaver select insert from the menu, then image object then rollover image. When this is done a window will appear, within this window name your rollover, add alt text, browse for you original image and then set your rollover image. When you have done this click OK.

You rollover button should new be complete.

Hope this helps

David

RE: Creating rollover buttons

To create a rollover:
In the Document window, place the insertion point where you want the rollover to appear.
Insert the rollover using one of these methods:
In the Insert bar, select Common, then click the Rollover Image icon.

Choose Insert > Interactive Images >Rollover Image.
thanks Garry

Dreamweaver tip:

JumpMenu in new window

When inserting a jumpmenu to a page, the only option available for 'open in' is usually 'main window'. There would be other options available if the page was a frameset.

To change the jumpmenu to open in a new window, change the target parameter of the selectbox in your code to 'window.open()'.

eg.
<select name="menu1" onChange="MM_jumpMenu('window.open()',this,0)">
