Hi Carolyn, Before you create a database you must first ensure that you plan it. You will need to be sure of the fields (ie Title, Name, Address) first, and what data you will be entering into each field. It is advisable to enter your field headings (as above) in one row with the relevant data below each one, so that related data flows down the column. If you wish to use Sort and Filter you should also ensure that there are no row or column gaps in your database, including no gap between field heading and the data below. You should format the field headings differently from the data, which allows Excel to be able to differentiate them from the data. Once you have populated your fields you will then be able to Sort and Filter your data using the appropriate toolbar buttons and or menu commands.

Hiding and unhiding rows using the keyboard

CTRL + 9 hides your columns and CTRL + SHIFT + ( unhides them although you would need to highlight the row letters either side as per normal
