Hi Artur. The dollar symbol is used to turn a cell reference from a relative reference (one which will update to the relative cell position when the formula is moved to another cell) to an absolute reference (e.g. a reference to $A$1 will always remain so, even when moved to another cell). You can switch between the two states by selecting the cell reference in the formula bar and pressing F4.

Excel tip:

Manually wrapping text

To manually wrap text, use the shortcut key Alt+Enter.

To cancel manual text wrapping, simply delete the new line.
