Is it possible to stop people from being able to save/copy/download a photograph from my website? I know how to create an onclick behaviour that brings up a pop-up saying it's copyrighted, but I want to actually prevent people from having the image, except by buying it from us!

Thanks!

Hi Mia,

This is a common question, and unfortunately, there is no way to protect your images from being saved.

Anyone can do a screen capture on their computer, crop the surrounding windows and junk and then save your image in whatever format they want.

See this post for more detail.

You'll need to watermark each image, or use low quality thumbnails, with larger full versions only available to customers who have paid.

Sorry, but that's the way it works. If they can see it, they can save it!

Regards, Rich

F12 Preview in Browser

Hi,

Thanks for the response re Behaviours.

Another issue has cropped up...hoping you can help.

I have been successfully viewing my new pages using F12/Preview in Browser, then suddenly this stopped working and a dialog box pops up trying to connect to the actual website I am creating which isn't live yet and then opens Internet Explorer and say Page Not Found. Did I perhaps click something I shouldn't have? Can you help. I only work on this website on Wednesdays, so I would really appreciate your assistance asap!

Thank you in advance for your speedy reply!

Kind regards, Mia Stoker
